Payments and Payouts
For Attendees
Adding a payment card
You need a payment card on file to join sessions (aside from your free trials).
To add one: tap the Profile tab → Attendee (Payment Card) → follow the prompts to enter your card securely.
Cards from most countries are accepted, including countries outside the list of Stripe payout countries.
Your card details are never stored by GiG — they're held securely by Stripe, which is PCI compliant.
How you're charged
After each session ends, your card is automatically charged based on the host's per-minute rate, billed in arrears at 30-second increments of your connected call time. A connected call under approximately 30 seconds is not charged.
A small transaction fee is added to each paid session.
Charges may take some time to fully process. You can see the status of each session in your transaction history.
For Hosts
Setting up your payout account
Before you can receive earnings, you need to set up a payout account.
To set it up: tap the Profile tab → Host (Payout Account) → follow the prompts. This opens a secure Stripe onboarding form where you enter your bank details.
You may need to complete a few verification steps before your account is fully active and able to receive payments.
Payout accounts are only available in countries supported by Stripe. If your country isn't supported yet, you won't be able to set up a payout account for now. Support for more countries and payment methods is planned for the future.
How much you earn
You earn 80% of the billed amount for every paid session — your per-minute rate applied to connected call time, billed in arrears at 30-second increments. GiG retains the remaining 20% plus the transaction fee.
Free trial sessions are not charged, so they don't earn anything.
When you get paid
Payments to hosts are made weekly.
After a session, your earnings first appear as Pending once the attendee's payment has cleared, then change to Paid Out once your weekly payment is sent to your bank account.
All payments are sent to the payout account you set up through Stripe.
Notes:
GiG currently uses Stripe for all payments. Attendees can pay with cards from most countries, but host payout accounts are only available in Stripe-supported countries.
Support for more countries and payment methods is planned for the future.
Both adding a card and setting up a payout account are handled securely by Stripe — GiG never sees or stores your full card or bank details.
FAQs
Is my card information safe?
Yes. GiG never stores your card details. They are handled entirely by Stripe, which is PCI compliant.
When will I be charged for a session?
After the session ends. The amount is based on the host's per-minute rate, billed in arrears at 30-second increments of how long the call lasted, plus a small transaction fee.
As a host, when do I get paid?
Payments are made weekly. Your earnings show as Pending until the attendee's payment clears and the weekly payment run sends your money to your bank account.
Why does my payout account say setup isn't complete?
Stripe may need a few more verification details before your account can receive payments. Tap Host (Payout Account) and follow the prompts to finish setup.
My country isn't supported for payouts — can I still use GiG?
Yes, as an attendee — cards from most countries are accepted, so you can join sessions. But you won't be able to set up a host payout account until your country is supported. Support for more countries is planned for the future.
