FAQs
General / All Users
Can I sign up with an email and password?
No. GiG only supports sign-in via Google or Apple.
Can I be both a host and an attendee?
Yes. You can join sessions as an attendee and host your own — all from the same account.

Setting Up a Session & Going Online
I tapped Save and nothing happened.
Check for an error popup — if a required field is missing or invalid, the save won't go through. All fields (title, cost per minute, description, category, and banner image) are required.
I don't see my session on the Home page.
Your session only appears to attendees when you're set to Online. Toggle your status to Online in the top bar of the Home tab — it won't show while you're Offline.
Can I update my session details after saving?
Yes. Go to the Profile tab → Session Detail at any time to edit your title, description, rate, category, or banner image, then Save.
Incoming Calls
My phone doesn't ring when someone joins my GiG.
Check that notifications are enabled for GiG in your device settings, that your phone isn't in Do Not Disturb or silent mode, and that you're toggled Online.
I missed a call — can I call the attendee back?
No. The attendee needs to join your GiG again. Stay Online and they may retry.
Do I get notified when a session ends?
Session start and end updates happen silently in the background — only incoming calls ring.
Getting Paid
How much do I earn?
You earn 80% of your per-minute rate for every paid session. GiG retains the rest plus the transaction fee.
How do I receive my payout?
First, set up your payout account so GiG can send you your earnings — see Payment & Payouts for the full steps. Once it's set up, payments are sent to your bank account automatically each week.
When do I get paid?
Payments to hosts are made weekly. Your earnings show as Pending until the attendee's payment clears and the weekly run sends your money to your bank account.
Why does my payout account say setup isn't complete?
If your Stripe bank account isn't fully set up, the Host (Payout Account) screen shows "Your account setup is not yet complete." Tap Continue to resume the Stripe setup form and finish entering your details. Your account must be fully set up to enable payouts.
My country isn't supported for payouts — can I still use GiG?
You can join sessions as an attendee, but you won't be able to set up a host payout account until your country is supported. Support for more countries is planned.
If I remove my bank account, what happens to earnings I haven't been paid yet?
Earnings you've already made are still owed to you, but you'll need a payout account set up to receive them. Add it back before the next weekly run.

Getting Started
Do I need to book a session in advance?
No. GiG is live and on-demand — you join a host whenever they're online and available.
Is GiG free to use?
Creating an account is free. You pay per minute for sessions, with free trials for hosts you haven't tried yet.
Joining Sessions
I can't see any sessions on the Home tab.
Sessions only appear when a host is online and available. Try a different category or search term, or check back later.
How do I know how much a session will cost?
The host's per-minute rate is shown on their session card before you join. You're charged based on how long the call lasts.
What happens after the session ends?
You may be prompted to leave a rating and review for the host.
Free Trials
How long is the free trial?
90 seconds with a host you're joining for the first time without a payment card.
How many free trials do I get?
Three in total — one per host. After your third, you'll need a payment card to join any new host.
Do I need to enter card details to use my free trial?
No. You only add a card if you want to continue past the trial or return to that host later.
I left the call after a few seconds — did I waste a trial?
Yes. Once a trial starts it counts as one of your three, even if you leave early.
Payments
Is my card information safe?
Yes. GiG never stores your card details — they're handled entirely by Stripe, which is PCI compliant.
When will I be charged?
After the session ends, based on the host's per-minute rate and the call length, plus a small transaction fee.
Why was I charged this amount?
Open the transaction in your history to see the breakdown — session duration and the per-minute rate used.
Will removing my card cancel charges from past sessions?
No. Past sessions are charged separately. Removing your card only stops you joining future paid sessions until you add one again.
During a Call
The other person can't hear or see me.
Check you're not muted and your camera is on, and confirm GiG has camera and microphone permissions in your device settings.
Can I view the chat after the call ends?
No. Chat messages are only available during the call and aren't saved. Note down anything important before the call ends.
What happens if the call disconnects?
The app tries to reconnect automatically. If that fails, go back to the Home tab and rejoin.
