GiG Privacy Policy

1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how GiG ("GiG," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the GiG mobile application and related services (the "Service"). GiG is committed to handling personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Policy.
2. Information We Collect
Personal Information. Name, email address, phone number, and other identifiers you provide during account registration, service use, feedback submission, surveys, or promotions.
Usage Data. Details of your interactions with the Service, including traffic data, session logs, pages/screens viewed, and content accessed.
Device & Technical Data. Device type, operating system version, mobile network information, and device identifiers available to us through your device's operating system.
Location Data. Approximate location derived from your IP address.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:

Provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including facilitating sessions between Hosts and Attendees;

Process payments and payouts;

Communicate with you, including transactional and (where you have not opted out) marketing messages;

Maintain the safety, security, and integrity of the Service;

Comply with legal obligations; and

As described in Section 5 below, for product development, research, and advertising purposes.
4. How We Share Your Information
We may disclose information to:

Third-party service providers (including hosting, payment processing, and customer support providers) who are bound by confidentiality obligations;

Business partners, in connection with a merger, acquisition, or similar corporate transaction;

Legal and regulatory authorities, where required by law or necessary to prevent harm, fraud, or illegal activity; and

Third parties, in aggregated or de-identified form that does not identify you (see Section 5).
5. How We Use Your Data: Advertising, Product Development, and Aggregation
Product Development and Advertising. In addition to the purposes described elsewhere in this Policy, we use the data we collect — including personal information, usage data, and device data — to: (a) develop, test, train, and improve GiG's existing and future products, features, and services; and (b) deliver targeted or interest-based advertising, including by sharing information with advertising partners, analytics providers, and similar third parties so that advertising shown to you (on our Service or elsewhere) can be tailored to your interests and activity.
Aggregated and De-Identified Data. We may create aggregated or de-identified datasets from the information we collect for the purposes above. Once information has been aggregated or de-identified such that it no longer identifies you, it is no longer considered personal information, and we may use, retain, license, sell, and otherwise commercialize it without restriction, including after your account is deleted.
Your Choices. You may opt out of the use of your personal information for targeted advertising, and of any sale or licensing of your personal information for that purpose, at any time by contacting support@gig.community Opting out does not apply to aggregated or de-identified data, which is no longer personal information, and does not affect our use of your information for operating the Service, billing, security, or product development on a non-advertising basis.
What We Don't Sell. GiG does not sell identifiable personal information to third parties.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Service and for the purposes described in this Policy, and thereafter for as long as required to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Aggregated or de-identified data, as described in Section 5, may be retained indefinitely.
7. Account and Data Deletion
You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information at any time by contacting support@gig.community.
8. Your Rights and Choices
You may access and correct your personal information via your account settings or by contacting support@gig.community. See Section 5 above for your choices regarding targeted advertising and the sale or licensing of your personal information. See Section 7 above for your right to request deletion of your account and personal information.
9. Children's Privacy
GiG is not intended for use by anyone under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete that information as soon as reasonably possible.
10. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to, and stored and processed in, countries other than your own, including where our service providers operate. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer. Where required, we take reasonable steps to ensure recipients of your information provide a comparable standard of protection to that required under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
11. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, use, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by [posting the updated Policy in the app / on our website with a new "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
